Privacy Policy

What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?

This Privacy Policy applies to the Vellum Binder app for mobile devices, together with any related services operated by KOST YUA (collectively, the “Application”). KOST YUA is referred to as the “Service Provider”.

The Application does not collect, log, or store any personal information when you download and use it. Registration is not required. The Application does not require user accounts, login, user profiles, subscriptions, or authorization to use its basic bookbinding project workspace.

If the Application is used with an active internet connection, technical protocol data, such as an ephemeral IP address, may be transmitted as part of normal network connectivity. This data is not retained by the Service Provider and is not used for tracking.

Local app records

If you save binding structure selections, Coptic Stitch notes, Case Binding notes, Long Stitch notes, Japanese Stab Binding notes, French Link Stitch notes, Byzantine Binding notes, regional tradition categories, difficulty tier selections, project titles, client or commission references, paper type records, binding style records, covering material records, board type records, workshop intentions, Folio, Quarto, Octavo, Duodecimo, Sextodecimo or custom format selections, page counts, gathering configurations, cover height values, block width values, spine thickness values, linen thread calculations, board size calculations, leather or cloth area estimates, adhesive volume estimates, overview notes, step entries, photos, structural notes, Metric or Imperial preferences, default adhesive settings, image resolution settings, automatic project reminder settings, or app settings, those records are intended to remain local to your device unless a future feature clearly states otherwise.

The Service Provider does not collect these local records from your device through normal use of the Application.

Does the Application collect precise real-time location information?

No. The Application does not collect precise real-time location information from your mobile device.

Do third parties see or have access to information obtained by the Application?

Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, no Application data is shared with third parties. KOST YUA does not sell personal data.

Data Retention

The Application does not collect, log, or store personal information on KOST YUA servers through normal use, so the Service Provider does not retain personal app data.

Any bookbinding records that you create inside the Application, such as project titles, dimensions, materials, calculations, production steps, photos, notes, preferences, and reminders, are intended to be stored locally on your device. KOST YUA does not receive or retain those local records through normal use.

If you voluntarily contact KOST YUA by email or through another direct communication channel, the information you provide may be retained only as long as necessary to respond to your request, handle support, maintain business records, or comply with applicable legal obligations.

Data Deletion

Because the Application does not collect personal data through normal use, uninstalling the Application removes the app from your device. Local app records can also be removed by using any available in-app deletion, reset, or device storage controls, depending on your device and app version.

If you voluntarily provided information to KOST YUA by email or another direct communication method, you may request deletion of that information by contacting support@kostyua.it.com. KOST YUA will handle deletion requests in accordance with applicable law and any legitimate recordkeeping obligations.

What are my opt-out rights?

Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, there is no tracking-based opt-out mechanism required. You can stop all use of the Application by uninstalling it from your device.

Children

The Application is not intended for children under 13 years of age, or such higher age as required by applicable law. The Service Provider does not knowingly solicit data from children or market to them. Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, children’s data is not collected by the Application. If a child voluntarily provides personal information through another channel, a parent or guardian should contact the Service Provider so appropriate action can be taken.

Security

Because the Application does not collect personal data through normal use, the risk of personal data exposure from the Application is minimal. However, no security system is completely secure. Users remain responsible for protecting their own devices, backups, screenshots, photos, and local project files.

Data Breach Notification

Since the Application does not collect personal data through normal use, the risk of a data breach affecting Application personal data is minimal. If a breach occurs involving any information you voluntarily provided to KOST YUA, the Service Provider will notify affected users as required by applicable law.

Changes

KOST YUA may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted with a new effective date. Where required by law, KOST YUA will seek consent to material changes before they take effect.

Your Consent

By using the Application, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. If you voluntarily provide information to KOST YUA and processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
